) In piena Barbagia, dove convivono ambienti di montagna, collina, pianura e mare, in questa varietà di paesaggi e di pascoli, operano da secoli i Pastori Dorgalesi.Ad essi, al latte delle pecore e capre di razza sarda, ed alla gamma vastissima di essenze prative ed arbustive si deve l’irripetibile unione di sapori e aromi che ) contraddistinguono la produzione della Cooperativa Dorgali Pastori, operante dal 1972 nel tradizionale rispetto di bontà e genuinità.Dorgali è considerato il capoluogo del turismo della Barbagia grazie al suo ambiente naturale ed alla fama turistica della sua frazione marina Cala Gonone, dalla quale si possono raggiungere le più belle cale lungo la costa del Golfo di Orosei. Artigianato, agricoltura, allevamento e turismo sono i punti forti dell’economia dorgalese. Il Caseificio, la Cantina Sociale, l’Oleificio, i Panifici di Pane Carasau e numerose Pasticcerie sono il fiore all’occhiello della sua economia che non rinuncia al sapere della tradizione. Tradizioni che si ritrovano nei laboratori artigiani specializzati in differenti lavorazioni: filigrana, ceramica, tappeti, pelle, coltelli, legno. |
) In the heart of Barbagia, where mountain, hill, plain and sea exist side by side, in this variety of pastureland and scenery, that the shepherds of Dorgali have lived and worked for centuries.A combination of skilled, painstaking work, the milk of sheep and goats of Sardinian breeds, the wide variety of plants and bushes on which they graze: all these elements generate the unique blend of ) tastes and flavours which is the hallmark of the ‘Cooperativa Dorgali Pastori’, producers of delicious, wholesome cheese and dairy foods since 1972.Dorgali is the capital of tourism in the Barbagia District, graced as it is by a stunning natural environment and the popular seaside resort of Cala Gonone, whence you can reach the most charming coves along the Gulf of Orosei. Handicrafts, farming, animal husbandry and tourism are the mainstays of Dorgali’s economy. The Dairy Factory, the Co-op Winery, the Oil Press, the Bakeries specializing in local «Carasau» – a crispy semolina bread – and a number of confectioners’ are among the gems of its thriving economy which is rightly proud of its links to the wisdom of times gone by. The enduring vitality of folk traditions is found in the many workshops, each specializing in a single craft: filigree jewellery, ceramics and pottery, carpet weaving, leatherwork, knives, wood carving. The town is home to two museums: The city’s Archaeological Museum and the Museum dedicated to Salvatore Fancello, a young ceramic artist who perished in the World War Two. |
) All’interno del paese, ben due musei: il Civico Archeologico ed il Museo Salvatore Fancello, dedicato al giovane ceramista deceduto durante la 2ª guerra mondiale.Numerosi siti archeologici preistorici si trovano nei dintorni del paese. Sono visibili le tracce lasciate dai popoli che si sono succeduti nell’isola. Imponenti Menhir, misteriose Domus de Janas, originali Dolmen in basalto o pietra calcarea, maestosi Nuraghi a strapiombo sul mare o svettanti sulle cime delle montagne, estesi Villaggi dell’Età del Bronzo ed eleganti Tombe dei Giganti. Numerosi e meravigliosi gli spettacoli naturali nascosti all’interno delle grotte presenti nei dintorni di Dorgali e lungo la costa di Cala Gonone. Gli amanti del mondo sommerso e sotterraneo, possono godere della varietà dell’offerta speleologica che accontenta i gusti dei visitatori più esigenti. Dai più temerari amanti degli sport estremi e dell’avventura, a quelli più tranquilli che possono ammirare in tutta comodità e sicurezza le grotte turistiche del Bue Marino e di Ispinigoli, attrezzate con luci e passerelle. Altro paradiso naturalistico il Supramonte di Dorgali che confina con il Supramonte di Orgosolo, Oliena ed Urzulei. Tra le sue cime più alte Monte Oddeu, Monte Tundu, Campo Gutturgios, Monte Omene. Al suo interno, monumenti naturali di gran suggestione come: la Gola di Gorroppu, tra i canyon più alti ed estesi d’Europa; il Villaggio Nuragico di Tiscali; l’altopiano di Doinanicoro. L’area montana del Supramonte è il paradiso degli amanti del trekking, della flora e della fauna selvatica, non è raro avvistare i mufloni. Non meno affascinante è il Golfo di Orosei, bagnato da acque cristalline e attraversato da lunghe codule che terminano sul mare con incantevoli spiagge come Cala Fuili e Cala Luna. Nell’area del Gollèi prevalgono rocce formatesi in seguito ad antiche eruzioni vulcaniche ed è attraversata dal Cedrino. Vigneti e uliveti addolciscono il paesaggio che in alcune parti è ricoperto da macchia mediterranea e radi boschi di leccio. |
) A number of interesting archaeological sites are scattered throughout the surrounding countryside. They reveal the passage of the different peoples who over time have left their mark on the island. They include huge Menhirs, mysterious chamber tombs dug into the rock and called ‘Domus de Janas’ (Homes of the Fairies), original Dolmens in basalt or limestone, stately Nuraghic fortresses rising high above the sea, set on sheer cliffs or on mountain tops, large Bronze Age villages and imposing megalithic tombs: the Giants’ Tombs. The visitor will also find natural wonders inside the caves in the vicinity of Dorgali and along the coast of Cala Gonone. Lovers of both sea and underground caves will find a wide variety of potholing destinations, able to satisfy even the most expert spelunkers. The area caters both for hardy adventure lovers and more laid-back tourists, who can admire in comfort and safety the tourist caves of Bue Marino and Ispingoli, well-lit and with walkways. Another natural paradise is the mountain district known as Supramonte di Dorgali, bordering on the Supramonte di Orgosolo, Oliena and Urzulei. Its highest peaks include Monte Oddeu, Monte Tundu, Campo Gutturgios, Monte Omene. In the interior, there are a number of unique natural monuments, such as the Gorroppu Gorge, one of the deepest and most extensive canyons in Europe, the Nuraghic Village of Tiscali and the upland plain of Doinanicoro. The Supramonte mountain range is a true paradise for trekkers and for lovers of plants and wildlife – quite often you can spot the local mountain goats or mouflon. Nor is the Gulf of Orosei less fascinating, with its crystal-clear waters and long narrow canyons, the codule, leading down to the sea and ending in enchanting beaches such as Cala Fuili and Cala Luna. In the area of Gollèi, visitors will find ancient volcanic rocks through which the river Cedrino winds. Vineyards and olive groves dot the countryside, which in some parts is also covered by luxuriant Mediterranean brush growth and sparse woods of holm oak or ilex. |
